What’s different about energy medicine?
Energy medicine often requires a series of treatments in order to get to the root cause of the problem. While it may sometimes seem to take more time than you expected, this method generally results in a more long-lasting solution to the problem. It also helps your overall health and wellbeing, improves other symptoms along the way, and decreases the likelihood of your symptoms progressing into more serious chronic or autoimmune illnesses. How could energy medicine possibly work?
Even though energy can’t be seen, there is plenty of evidence everywhere in our world. Do we see the energy from the remote control when we turn on our TV’s? Do we see energy when we pray? Of course not, but we know it’s there and it works.
Our bodies want to be healthy and pain-free, so by communicating with our sub-conscious we can find the reasons for the blocked or unbalanced energy and restore health. With energy work, the evidence is in the improved health that results—and that, after all, is what we are after.
What if I have always relied on traditional medicine?
It is important to set aside many of the attitudes about medicine that we were raised with. Does this sound familiar?
- You only go to the doctor when you are sick or in pain
- The doctor gives you a pill and the affliction goes away (or so you hope)
If that isn’t getting you to the health and wellbeing you want to achieve, maybe it’s time to consider alternatives.
What type of person benefits most from your services?
Everyone can benefit form my services. My practice includes people who:
- Are seeking a higher level of health and wellness
- Have been suffering for a long time and haven’t found any answers in the traditional or complementary medical fields
- Are able to think outside the box and are open enough to try something different are often pleasantly surprised in the relief they find here.
- Are truly committed to their health
- Honestly believe that the way they live their lives, the f ood they choose to eat, the activities they engage in for exercise, and the way they take care of themselves in general are a large part of the picture
- Understand that true healing involves both the practitioner and the client—that successful treatment is always a joint effort

What is a typical visit like?
A typical visit involves about 45 minutes of intake and energy work followed by the acupuncture or acupressure for 20-30 minutes. For children and babies a typical visit involves about one hour of energy work.
How many visits will it take?
The length of treatment that’s required depends on the severity of the issue, the length of time the issue has been a problem, the client’s receptivity, the frequency of visits, and other variables. Because the root cause of the problem varies from person to person, I consider each case holistically, individual-by-individual. What works for one person’s allergies isn’t necessarily the right path for another.
I recommend three to five visits initially to get a clear picture of what works best for the individual client and to see if he or she is receptive to my work. Then we can plan from there. If a person is making progress, but quits too soon, the correction may not be long lasting. That’s because we haven’t gotten to the root cause. I try to be as honest as possible with a treatment plan, but sometimes it takes an individual a little longer to respond or to notice the improvements.
Why are a series of sessions often necessary?
My work is not like other visits to an M.D., where you go in with a symptom, the doctor address it with a drug, and you only go back if the symptom doesn’t go away. What’s happening in that scenario is that the symptom is merely covered up, No one has determined the root cause, so often times the issue will return or a more serious symptom will arise in addition to the original one. If the doctor has no luck in determining the cause, he or she will often tell you that you just have to learn to live with it.
Energy medicine takes more time, because we have to peel the layers or symptoms back until we get to the root cause of the imbalance. This can sometimes require several visits, but the results are better and more long lasting. People who truly understand the difference between wellness care and merely putting out fires value this work and reap its benefits.
Do people have to get acupuncture with their sessions?
After the energy work I recommend acupuncture while resting to allow the corrections to integrate, but it is not a problem if acupressure is substituted.
Are the corrections permanent?
Most times if we have gotten to the root cause of the problem, the corrections are permanent, but, like our vehicles, we sometimes need a tune-up to stay in balance. The key is to maintain the energetic balance to remain symptom free. But life happens, and, as different stresses occur in our life, we react to them and it may affect our balance. Most clients know, when symptoms start to come back, it’s time to get in for a tune-up before it becomes more serious. If they come in at the first sign of an issue coming back, we can usually restore balance and eliminate the issue quickly. We don’t expect our cars to stay turned up and problem-free if we fail to maintain them, so why would we expect our bodies to stay problem-free if we fail to take care of them?
What ages can be treated with this work?
My clients range from babies to people in their 80’s and 90’s. It is safe for all ages and can be used to address many issues.
What if I already have an acupuncturist?
Many of my clients have already established a long-term relationship with an acupuncturist who practices Traditional Chinese Medicine. My work in no way interferes with their current acupuncturist’s work—if anything, what I do actually enhances it. Very often a client decides to come to me for treatment of an issue that isn’t responding to the other methods, and we successfully treat the issue. I do, however, caution the client to not stop my work too soon, as the correction may not yet be as durable as we would like. I suggest spreading out the sessions for a period of time, until we are sure that we have resolved the issue and the underlying causes.
